Another Brief Hello

Monday, December 7, 2009

Jessica is continuing to do well. We all hold our collective breaths and keep our fingers crossed and say our prayers.

I've made a little executive decision to cut back on her Lyrica. She's currently taking Lyrica, Pamelor, and Florinef along with a ridiculous amount of supplements. Pamelor is for insomnia and migraines. Florinef is for the neurally mediated hypotension. The Lyrica is for joint and muscle pain. She's been taking it in the morning and at night, so I've cut back to just one dose a day (25mg). We'll give it a week to see if she has any side effects, but I have a feeling she'll be okay.

I think that the lifestyle we've settled on for the time being is the best for her (schooling at home so that she can have a social life). I'm not sure how we'll handle college. One day at a time, right?

I hope Jessica does well, and you're right, one day at a time!

Keep smiling!

I'm glad Jessie seems to be hanging in there. I wanted to let you know about the giveaway I'm hosting on my blog. There are a few gluten free items along with others. I hope you can check it out if you get a chance. Take care.

I saw that, Brian! I've got to get over and check it out. This is a seriously busy crunch time for me - hubby said it's the only time of year I work - yeah. Anyway, I'm hopping over right now. :)

Yup, one day at a time, sometimes one moment at a time! It's wonderful that you have found a lifestyle where Jessica is able to LIVE - that's priceless. I sometimes wonder about college, too, but we just have to focus on today.

I don't want to make ANY changes to Jamie's meds! He's doing pretty well on the current regimen, and I;ve learned not to worry that we take too much stuff, as long as it helps us to be well enough to live our lives. Jamie's sleep is finally almost normal (a precarious normal) - he now takes 25 mg of trazodone plus 40 mg of nortriptyline at bedtime (plus 1 mg melatonin). I know first-hand what a relief it is to get good sleep.

So glad Jessie is doing well and able to enjoy some social life. Hope you're all enjoying the holiday season!

Sue
